Career

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1986.

Began practicing law at A. Esteves, Luiz Gomes & Abecassis.

After ten years of practice, founded the firm of Roquette, Vaz Pinto & Marques dos Santos, under her married name of Rita Vaz Pinto. Later became partner of Olavo Cunha, Franqueira Dias, Barros de Figueiredo, Vaz Pinto & Associados and was a founding partner of Rita Delgado & Associados, in association with Carlos Olavo.

Joined Albuquerque & Associados in 2010.

From 1999 to 2006, she worked in close partnership with the Portuguese Bar Association, as instructor of cases for assessing fees at the Bar Association and was a Member of the Jury for admission examinations to the Portuguese Bar Association.

In 2004, she was a contender to election as member of the General Board of the Portuguese Bar Association. 

Member of the Executive Comity and President of the Commission for the Future of the Profession of AIJA - Association International des Jeunes Avocats, from 2000 to 2005.

Director and Bursar of ASAP - Association of Portuguese Law Firms, from 2002 to 2003.

Chairman of the Board of the Concessionaries’ Association of the Tagus Riverbanks, since 2009.

Member of the Political Commission of a Portuguese political party, in 2000 and 2001, joining its  Jurisdiction Board in 2002.

Speaker at several International and National Law Conferences.

Main practice areas: Real Estate, Tax, Corporate, Commercial and Intellectual Property Law. Extensive experience rendering legal advice to major projects of national interest, actively participating in foreign investment processes and operations, such as negotiations, agreements and their subsequent implementation.

Publications

No âmbito de áreas da sua especialidade, sendo também autora de inúmeros artigos Jurídicos e Políticos, nomeadamente na Revista o Direito, na Gazette da AIJA, no Diário Económico e no Expresso.

Autora dos romances, Sem Medo, baseado nos factos marcantes do Século XX em Portugal, publicado em 2004 e da Casa da Malveira, inspirado numa história verídica de extorsão, que teve como consequência a prisão de diversas entidades da sociedade portuguesa, publicado em 2014.

Recognitions

Author of various legal published works in her specialty field, and also countless legal and political articles published in the law review “Direito”, in the AIJA Gazette, and other publications such as “Diário Económico” and “Expresso”.

Rita has written  of novels “Sem Medo”, based on the relevant event of the 20th Century in Portugal, published in 2004, and “Casa da Malveira” which was inspired by a true story of extorsion which lead to the imprisionment of several figures of Portuguese society, published in 2014.
